  • For short term use indoors or outdoors Ficus Exotica (ficus exotica) Common name Weeping Fig Description The Ficus Exotica are good for low level, dense coverage or screening. The drooping branches of the ficus tree lend a sweeping character and the glossy, alternate leaves are solid green and thrive in full sun. A ficus exotica tree can reach varying heights. Where they are required for outdoor use at a short term event or function, we can supply base stands to give them more stability. Size Medium, Large Light requirement Full Sun

  • For short term use indoors or outdoors Ficus Lyrata (ficus Lyrata) Common name Fiddle Leaf Fig Description The Fricus Lyrata is a species of fig tree native to western Africa, in ideal situations it can grow to 12 metres. Despite being out of favour for many years they have made a dramatic return, so much so that they are very hard to find in a mature state. The distinct, dramatic foliage shaped like a small fiddle is lush and leathery. With the right conditions they are fast growing and can act as a fantastic feature option.   • Ficus Rubber (Ficus elastica)

    Common name Rubber Tree

    Description This is another form of ficus. It has large, glossy, oval shaped foliage. In the right light conditions, they grow rapidly and can bush out especially if pruned.

    Caution must be taken with this plant as the sap can be an irritant, it produces a milky white latex separate from its sap which is carried and stored in different cells. This latex was formerly used to make rubber.

  • For short term use indoors or outdoors Ficus Rubber (Ficus elastica) Common name Rubber Tree Description This is another form of ficus. It has large, glossy, oval shaped foliage. In the right light conditions, they grow rapidly and can bush out especially if pruned.   • For short term use indoors or outdoors Ficus Standard (ficus Emerald) Common name Topiary Tree – Lolly Pop Tree – Ball Ficus Description There is a long tradition of Topiary and among the most favoured plant varieties to be used is the Ficus, it can be trained to any form with the most popular being a ball formed atop a single trunk. Their most common use is to frame an entry point or along the aisle in a church for a wedding. They are also commonly used in short term hire at the front entrance of a house that is for sale. Due to their formal look they can be used for either period or modern designed houses. Size Medium, Large Light requirement full sun

So as to secure availability of choice we don’t usually specify a variety as this can limit options. To gain maximum affect we sometimes have to insert synthetics to fill displays out.   • This plant is only to be used indoors Golden Cane (chrysalidocarpus lutescens) Common name Golden Cane Description This form of palm has far denser foliage than most. Its lime green appearance contrast well with its golden frond stems. The amount of light they receive will dictate the tone of green the foliage will display, the greater the amount of light, the lighter green the foliage will become. Because of their dense growth habit, they are most commonly used as a screening option but also make a great stand-alone display when there is suitable space provided.   • For short term use indoors or outdoors Half Wine Barrels With a plant Common name Wine Barrel Description The image displayed has a large lemon Tree in it. Wine Barrels are usually used for short term hire and we are able to put any sized plant into them. As an example, we have put tall gum trees with native grasses at the base and also low tropical only. We have also filled them with flowers on a couple of occasions.   • Happy Plant (dracaene fragrans 'massangeana')

    Common name Chinese lucky plant or Chinese money tree

    Description A very reliable and multi-faceted variety. As a standalone plant it has great presence with its variegated foliage, it is a real space saver as its growth habit is upright and tight, fantastic in partitioned work station areas where space is at a premium.

    On Occasion they do produce sprays of fragrant flowers, these flower stems need to be removed because as the flowers begin to go over they produce copious amounts of sticky sap.

    They are fairly disease resistant and like most Dracaenas like to be kept to the dryer side of watering.

Another common request is to put hedging in front of a stage to either hide cabling or other structures. We have also used them many times to soften a walled area where we actually alternate a tall single ficus with a hedge. We mainly use Syzygiums and Murrayas as hedging plants and can do hedging from 400mm tall to 1000mm. Size Small, Medium Light requirement Full Sun  
  • Janet Craig (dracaena Fragrans)

    Common name Janet Craig

    Description A very reliable variety that has striking, large deep green strappy foliage. In multi planted situation it has the capacity to enhance the variegation of other plants and can tolerate the full spectrum of light conditions, from low to high. A large single specimen is also very striking. Light conditions will dictate the amount of water they require but in most instances Janet Craigs prefer to have slightly dry soil

    Cauri Pine (agathis australis) Common name Cauri Sometimes spelt with a K - Kauri Description The Kauri is a fantastic specimen for indoors though its true origins are from the rain forests of New Zealand where it grows to an immense height and girth. Its timbers then used for fine furniture manufacture and interior fit outs. It is disease resistant and has adapted well to indoor use. Similar to the grown habit of a Ficus it has small, dark foliage that has a bronze tinge when new, it also produces a light white coating on the foliage which acts as natural sun screen. It can on occasion look like the plant is dusty. Size Medium, Large Light requirement high -  full sun
  • This plant is only to be used indoors Kentia Palm (Howea Forsteriana) Common name Kentia Palm Description A very long established variety originating from Lord Howe Island where production continues today. They graced the foyers and other stately rooms of many 19 century Mansions where they were used as feature displays because of their regal upright growth habit and their graceful spreading deep green foliage. They are an extremely hearty variety and are usually multi planted to give full coverage foliage from the base of their nursery pot, in the industry they are called Multi Kentias.   • For short term use indoors or outdoors Long term use outdoors Sysigium Myrtaceace Common name Lilly Pilly Description This option can be a standalone plant but is more commonly used either in troughs to create a hedge or as a medium option when grouping plants as it’s a very good filler variety.   • This plant is only to be used indoors Marginata (dracaena marginata) Common name Dragon Tree Description Another well-established indoor variety, the Dracaena Marginata is best suited to a single feature planting because of its sculptural assets. Most are multi stemmed planted with the stems usually either straight or sculptured. Regardless of their cane form they are very striking with their sharp appearance but soft touch Size Small, Medium, Large Light requirement medium -  high  
  • Medium Square Mini Garden Pot Dimension / 330mm square – 160mm deep

    Description We usually multi plant with up to six small plants, ranging from taller varieties to the rear working down in size towards the front of the planter. We have a wide range of plant varieties available but the ones we use most are Sansaveria both short and Dwarf, three forms of Peparomia, Pothos, Rhoea, Janet Craig and Happy Plants. The varieties used can be dependent on the light levels.

  • Parlour Palm (chamaedora elegans)

    Common name Parlour Palm

    Description An attractive petit palm with dense foliage and a compact growth habit.

    This particular variety works well as a standalone bench top or as an option in a situation where alternate varieties are used either in a lineal planting or in a planter box.

  • Pothos Totem (Epipremnum aureum)

    Common name Pothos

    Description Despite becoming vhard to source they are still a very popular option as they have a nice compact growth habit with striking heart shaped foliage that has some mottled colour variation to add a bit of impact.

    This trailing version is great as a filler in mini gardens and also on tall cabinets where they can cascade down, they are also the most popular plant used in green walls.

  • This plant is only to be used indoors Pothos Totem (Epipremnum aureum) Common name Pothos – Devils Ivy Description Despite becoming very hard to source they are still a very popular option as they have a nice compact growth habit with striking heart shaped foliage that has some mottled colour variation to add a bit of impact. They are best used as a feature display or where space is at a premium. Size Medium, Large Light requirement medium   high
  • This plant is only to be used indoors Raphis Palm (raphis excelsa) Common name Lady Finger Description They have one of the most structurally complex leaf forms in the palm world and cover all of the design requirements for the ultimate plant. Dense foliage, compact growth habit, interesting trunk texture and form, deep green, glossy foliage etc. Their Achilles heel is Mealy bug, cleaning in high traffic areas and trimming can be arduous and needs to be done with pinking shears to maintain the visual integrity of the leaf. They work best as a feature but can also be used in troughs to create a hedge affect. Size Small, Medium, Large Light requirement medium -  high

  • This plant is only to be used indoors Seifritzii (chamaedora elegans) Common name Bamboo Palm  Description Named because they are of the Bamboo family but with a similar foliage form to palms, they are one of the most widely used indoor plants. They are a good stand-alone option where space is at a premium as they have an upright grown habit but work best when they are used in a trough with a different species centre planting.   • This plant is only to be used indoors Selloum (Philodendron Selloum) Common name Selloum Description The Philodendron Selloum belongs to the Araceae family. They have foliage simular to the Monsteria plant or more commonly known as Elephant Ears. The Selloums foliage is somewhat more tender and of a lighter green. They are sometime hard to source as a stock line – especially in our winter months due to cold burn in transit. Size Small, Medium Light requirement low -  high

They are perfect when used as a green partition or to act as a green wall to delineate different spaces in an open plan formatted office when a bit of privacy is required. Their high gloss fibreglass finish is very stylish and smaller plants can be used if they are used purely as low dividers e.g. Cafes or break out areas in offices.
